All the King's Men (2005 film)

All the King's Men (2005) is a remake of the 1949 Academy Award-winning movie All the King's Men will be released (wide) by Columbia Pictures. It will be directed by Steven Zaillian, who is also listed under the writing credits. Originally Meryl Streep was signed on for the role of Sadie Burke; however, Variety announced that the actress has in fact decided to drop out (she was replaced by Patricia Clarkson). The six actors already signed on suggest that this may be one of 2005's biggest movies. The film is currently in post-production.

The film also made headlines this summer when news outlets revealed that co-star Jude Law cheated on his girlfriend with his children's nanny while filming in New Orleans. Incidentally, Law's co-star, Sean Penn, also came to Law's defense during this year's Oscar telecast. In his opening monologue, host Chris Rock criticized Law's star power, and later in the show, Penn called Law "one of our finest actors."
