It tells the story of a dog named Charlie B. Barkin (voiced by Burt Reynolds), who refuses to stay in the afterlife after having been murdered. He returns to life in order to seek revenge, calling upon the services of a little orphan girl named Anne-Marie who has the ability to talk to animals.
