Algy Ward
Born Alisdair Ward, Algy has been an on & off (when friends) bass player with The Damned. Played bass on what is known as a seminal alternative / punk / pop / Goth record; Machine Gun Etiquette for The Damned. These records are often left out of music history lessons though are critically acclaimed by critics, music historians, and members of many later bands to contain some of the earliest sounds of what would become common place styles of playing in radio-oriented pop music. He also was briefly a member of the Australian proto-punk band The Saints (playing on their second album Eternally Yours), and also founded and fronted the seminal New Wave of British Heavy Metal outfit Tank during the 1980s. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
