Alexander Mountbatten, 1st Marquess of Carisbrooke
The Most Honourable Alexander "Drino" Albert Mountbatten, 1st Marquess of Carisbrooke (November 23 1886–February 23 1960) was the son of Prince Henry of Battenberg and Princess Beatrice of the United Kingdom.

Prince Alexander Battenberg (as he was known from birth until 1917) was born in 1886 at Windsor Castle. On July 19 1917, he married Lady Irene "Iris" Denison (1890–1956), daughter of William Denison, 2nd Earl of Londesborough, at the Chapel Royal in St James's Palace (he was created 1st Marquess of Carisbrooke two days earlier and also changed his name to Alexander Mountbatten that same day). Alexander and Iris had one daughter, Lady Iris Victoria Beatrice Grace Mountbatten (1920–1982)

Alexander died in 1960, aged 73 at Kensington Palace and was buried at Whippingham Church on the Isle of Wight.
