Billy Joel adores his daughter and she has been the influence for much of his writing during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The touching piano ballad 'Lullabye', found on his 'River Of Dreams' album released in 1993 is solely written about Alexa. She also features in his 1989 hit 'The Downeaster Alexa', in which he relates the plight of the North Atlantic fishermen using the name of his own boat, named after Alexa.
