Albrecht von Wallenstein
Albrecht Wenzel Eusebius von Wallenstein (also Waldstein, Czech: Albrecht Václav Eusebius z Vald?tejna), September 24, 1583 – February 25, 1634) was a Bohemian soldier and politician who gave his services (an army of 30,000 to 100,000 men) during the Danish Period of the Thirty Years' War to Ferdinand II for no charge except the right to plunder the territories that he conquered.
Legacy
One division of Waffen-SS was named Wallenstein (http://www.valka.cz/newdesign/v900/clanek.php?id=1025 in Czech).

Friedrich Schiller wrote an epic four-part play based on the life of Wallenstein, which was translated into English by Samuel Taylor Coleridge as two plays, The Piccolomini and Death of Wallenstein.
