Alan J. Heeger


 

Alan J. Heeger (born 22 January 1936 in Sioux City, Iowa) is a United States chemistry and physics academic and nobel prize winner. He won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 2000 along with Alan G. MacDiarmid and Hideki Shirakawa "for their discovery and development of conductive polymers". He is currently a professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
