Airport Improvement Fee
An Airport Improvement Fee is a tax paid by departing or connecting passengers at an airport. These are levied by the airports and the proceeds are usually used to fund infrastructure improvements. Most of the time, these fees are included in the price of an airline ticket, but sometimes passengers may be required to pay when at the airport. The amount paid is usually between $10 and $15.
