Adam James Stern (born February 12, 1980 in London, Ontario) is an outfielder in Major League Baseball who plays for the Boston Red Sox. He bats left-handed and throws right-handed.

Major league career

Stern was a Rule 5 draft selection from the Atlanta Braves in 2005. He made his major league debut with the Red Sox on July 7, 2005 at Baltimore. His MLB debut was delayed first by a fractured thumb he sustained while sliding at spring training, then a hamstring injury. Stern had hit safely in 16 straight games for the Triple-A Pawtucket until he made the big team.
