Abe Burrows

Abe Burrows (1910-1985) noted author and director for the stage, particularly Broadway. His list of writing credits include plays and musical books for such hits as How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Guys and Dolls, Cactus Flower, Can-Can, Silk Stockings, Breakfast At Tiffany's and many others. He was a famous script doctor, and the desperate call of a producer, "Get me Abe Burrows!", remains Broadway shorthand for a script that needs repair. A list of his shows can be found here.
