A Plantation Act
A Plantation Act was one of the first Vitaphone shorts made in 1926 starring Al Jolson. This was the first film that Jolson stared in. The film is quite short and has three songs including "When The Red Red Robbin Comes bob bob bobin Along" and "Rockiby Your Rockiby Baby With A Dixe Melodie". Historians think that this might be the first positive sound short ever filmed. This film was thought to be lost to be in tune with the myth that The Jazz Singer was the first comercial sound film made but a copy of the film was found in the national archive mislabled as a preview is for "The Jazz Singer" also around this time they found the Vitaphone disk thus completing one of the the first sound films.
