50 goals in 50 games
Scoring fifty goals in fifty (or fewer) games in the National Hockey League is an incredible achievement. It is considered the true bench mark of the great goal scorers. In the last NHL season to be played (2003-04), the goal scoring race was won with 41 goals in an 82-game schedule. Ilya Kovalchuk, Jarome Iginla and Rick Nash tied at 41 goals a piece. Compare "41 in 82" vs. "50 in 50" or Wayne Gretzky's "50 in 39".
