2004 American League Championship Series


 

The 2004 American League Championship Series was a Major League Baseball playoff series played between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees. The series, a rematch of the 2003 American League Championship Series, started on October 12, 2004 and ended one minute after midnight Eastern Time on October 21. The Red Sox became the first Major League team to tie up a series after losing their first three games. Boston went on to defeat New York 10-3 in Game 7, advancing to their first World Series since 1986. The 2004 ALCS is considered by many to have been one of the most exciting and memorable spectacles in the history of American professional sports.
